Abstract <p>The paper presents the results of an analysis of the relationship between geomagnetic disturbance levels and cardiorespiratory system parameters in members of the 64th Russian Antarctic Expedition. A relationship between the level of geomagnetic disturbance (K-index) and blood oxygen saturation was identified. Analysis of blood oxygen saturation as a function of the K-index revealed statistically significant differences (<i>p</i> = 0.022) (Kruskal–Wallis test). The results show that higher levels of geomagnetic disturbance lead to higher blood oxygen saturation. Given the similarity of extreme environmental conditions experienced by polar explorers and cosmonauts, it is proposed to use blood oxygen saturation as a marker of effects of geomagnetic disturbances on cosmonauts during spaceflight in near-Earth orbit.</p>
