Abstract <p>Recent research, both experimental and theoretical, has revealed a wealth of evidence demonstrating that hypomagnetic environments (HME) significantly influence the development and essential functions of living organisms. This review aims to demonstrate the importance and impact of HMEs in both the preparation for and execution of experiments on lunar and Martian surfaces. Life on Earth, as we know it, developed within the protective embrace of the planet’s strong magnetic field. This field acts as a shield, deflecting harmful fluxes of charged particles and safeguarding life on the surface. Without this magnetic barrier, the existence of life as we understand it today would be impossible. While the protective effect of Earth’s magnetic field against radiation is well-established, its influence on the evolution of biological matter and its crucial role in maintaining the proper functioning of living organisms remains less understood.</p>
