Abstract

The applicability of the data of ICON and GFS/NCEP global numerical weather forecast models for assessing snow accumulation in the Selenga River basin was verified using data from 2020–2022. The results are validated using snow survey data. Realistic estimates of the spatial distribution of snow reserves are obtained. The results are compared with ERA5–Land reanalysis data and MODIS satellite images.
