Snow Depth in Forests and Fields on Lowlands of Russia under the Current Climate Conditions

The average long-term maximum snow depths in the forest and field are compared for different climatic periods. The average value of the maximum snow depth for the modern climatic period of 1991–2020 increased by 5% in the field compared to the base historical climatic period of 1966–1990 and decreased by 8% in the forest. The ratio of the maximum snow depth in the forest to its value in the field for these periods was 1.08 and 1.24, respectively.
