Abstract

Understanding the hydrochemical characteristics of shallow groundwater in the Handan section of the Fuyang River Basin and clarifying the water cycle pattern in the area is of great significance for the rational planning of sustainable development and utilization of groundwater resources. This study selects and tests surface water and shallow groundwater in some representative points in the Handan section of the Fuyang River Basin, and analyzes the detection results using the Piper trilinear diagram method, Gibbs diagram method, ion ratio diagram method, and hydrogen and oxygen isotope method. The research results indicate that: (1) The surface water and shallow groundwater in the Fuyang River Basin are supplied by atmospheric precipitation in the western Taihang Mountains; (2) The runoff process of shallow groundwater is mainly influenced by the participation of carbonate in the dissolution of silicate rocks, the joint participation of sulfuric acid and carbonate in the dissolution of carbonate rocks, and the alternating adsorption of cations, with weak hydraulic connections with surface water. This study can provide scientific basis and technical support for groundwater resource management, water environment protection, and sustainable development in the Handan section of the Fuyang River Basin.
