Abstract

Model of the Lake Titicaca level long-term fluctuations are presented. Estimation of the nonlinear dependence between outflow from the lake and the level affected on the hydrological regime of the lake is the problem with practical applications. It was shown that decrease of approximately 25% in the average river inflow lead to sufficient dropping in the lake equilibrium level and decrease Desaguadero river flow. Under these conditions the Lake Titicaca transforms from non-terminal waterbody to closed (terminal) one.
