Abstract <p>The kinetics of the mass-transfer process during the regeneration of TP-22C brand spent turbine oil by an effective adsorption–alkaline method in a capacitive apparatus with a mixing device using a complex absorber based on NaX zeolite is studied. The dependences of the effective mass-transfer coefficient on the conditions of mechanical mixing and the concentration of potassium hydroxide in the composition of the complex absorber are experimentally determined. The type and coefficients of the criterion equation for calculating the effective mass-transfer coefficient of the spent turbine oil regeneration process in an apparatus with a mixing mechanical device by the adsorption–alkaline method are established. The obtained criterion equation is upgraded to take into account the contribution of the chemical reaction of the neutralization of oxidation products during the regeneration of spent turbine oil during control of the external diffusion process. A comparison of the results of calculating the effective mass-transfer coefficient according to the proposed criterion equation shows good agreement with the results of experimental studies; the discrepancy does not exceed 10.4%. The obtained criterion equation can be used to perform technological and optimization calculations of processes and devices for the regeneration of spent turbine oil by the adsorption–alkaline method.</p>
