Abstract

Phase equilibria in sections of the MgCl2–CO(NH2)2–H2O system at temperatures below 0°C are studied. It is established that the introduction of urea into the MgCl2–H2O system leads to the formation of low-temperature eutectics with crystallization temperatures down to –51°C, which significantly expands the temperature range of application of magnesium chloride as an anti-icing material. The identified compositions are promising for the development of new anti-icing materials on their basis.
