Abstract

During the operation of reinforced concrete product (RCP) enterprises, industrial wastewater polluted mainly with suspended matter is formed. The volume of industrial wastewater from RCP enterprises reaches 100–300 L per 1 m3 of manufactured products. In the paper, a process flow diagram for cleaning wastewater from suspended particles at an RCP enterprise using a hydrocyclone filtration station has been proposed. The aim of the work was to study the performance of a hydrocyclone filtration station and determine its technological characteristics when cleaning wastewater from suspended particles at an RCP enterprise. In the paper, the results of research of a technological setup developed by KSUACE staff, using various types of hydrocyclone devices with diameters of 75, 80, and 100 mm, have been presented. The results of changing the parameters of the technological process of operation of a hydrocyclone filtration station depending on the type of hydrocyclone are shown. In the paper, results that highlight specific issues of using a hydrocyclone-filtration station for treating wastewater from suspended matter have been presented. The use of an automated high-speed filtration station (AHFS) for wastewater treatment from suspended solids increases the performance of the treatment facility while reducing its size compared to the “hydrocyclone-high-speed filter” treatment scheme. High-pressure hydrocyclones with a diameter of 80 mm are recommended for use, as they operate efficiently with lower energy consumption. According to the obtained data, the cleaning efficiency at the hydrocyclone filter station has been 85–94%. The pressure at the inlet of hydrocyclones must be within 0.4 MPa, while the back pressure at the drain holes of these devices must be at least 0.2 MPa.
