Classification of Structural Components of Heterogeneous Fluid Flows

In accordance with the principles of modern logic, including the requirement of definitiveness of the object and the method of research, the fundamentals of fluid mechanics are analyzed by consistent methods of engineering mathematics and technical physics. The classification of components of periodic flows of heterogeneous liquids and gases is carried out with control over the fulfillment of the compatibility condition when solving the system of fundamental equations. In a single formulation, gravitational surface and internal (as well as capillary and acoustic) waves and accompanying families of ligaments are considered. Examples of flow pattern analysis in natural and laboratory conditions are given.
