Hydrodynamic Structure of Secondary Polymer Melt Flows in Channels with Changing Geometry
摘要
Abstract
The work simulates the flow of a polymer melt in a channel with a sudden narrowing. The transverse narrowing of the channel is rectangular. To find the velocity fields of the flat flow of the polymer melt, a modified Vinogradov–Pokrovskii rheological model is used, based on a microstructural approach to describing the dynamics of the polymer liquid. Calculations are performed using the finite-element method. The distribution of the longitudinal and transverse components of the velocity vector is found and the theoretical and experimental data of the polymer melt velocity fields are compared.
