Effect of Ultrasonic Vibrations on Obtaining Pressed Compounds

Abstract—
The results of investigations on ultrasonic press-fitting of cylindrical parts are reported. Under the action of vibrations, the press-fitting depth increases by 1.5–4 times depending on the pressing mode. With increasing roughness, the press-fit depth increases due to a decrease in the friction force because of the lubricating action of metal particles formed during asperity crumpling of surface microroughnesses.
