Analysis of the Possibility of Carburizing Intensification in Modern Coreless Induction Furnaces

Abstract
The primary cause of the problem of carburizing a metal in coreless induction furnaces is shown to be a low energy intensity of the carbon dissolution in the iron melt. This leads to excess overheating of the melt and an increase in the melting time. To prevent overheating, it is proposed to combine the carburizing process with the melting of returns. The required amount of return is shown to be less than its content in the metal balance of enterprises.
