Corrosion Properties of a Model Medium for Accelerated Tests of Marine Electrodeposited Coatings

Abstract—A model environment is proposed to simulate the influence of the corrosive components of the marine atmosphere on electrodeposited coatings under laboratory conditions. Regression equations are derived to determine the functional dependence of the corrosion properties of the model medium (pH, electrical conductivity) on the concentration of its components, and their geometric interpretations are obtained in the form of graphical projections of equal-level lines of the response surfaces in a simplex. The results obtained are important for determining the predictive accelerated test conditions for coatings.
