Charge Instability of Ellipsoidal Drops of a Conductive Liquid in Electrospraying
摘要
Abstract
Instability in liquid droplets containing charged macroions is considered, relative to the Rayleigh limit. It is found that beyond the Rayleigh limit, droplets become unstable and form structures with distinct features. Computer modeling is used to track the development of charge instability. The effect the instability of the mechanism of decay of charged droplets has on electrospraying is considered. The stability of charged drops of conducting liquid in the form of ellipsoids is considered. Features of ellipsoidal deformation are described, and the nature of the dependence of the surface density of forces is investigated for different values of the Rayleigh parameter.
