Abstract <p>A sorbent based on industrial waste (borogypsum), obtained via autoclave treatment, is used to study the kinetic and diffusion parameters of the sorption of Co<sup>2+</sup> ions from aqueous solutions of cobalt chloride with no salt background. Kinetic curves of the sorption of Co<sup>2+</sup> ions are obtained and analyzed using models of chemical kinetics at temperatures 20, 40, and 60°C. Such thermodynamic parameters as standard enthalpy (Δ<i>H</i>°), standard entropy (Δ<i>S</i>°), standard free energy (Δ<i>G</i>°), and coefficients of Co<sup>2+</sup> ions diffusion are determined at selected temperature conditions.</p>
