摘要

Abstract

In this effort, an electrochemical sensor using differential pulse voltammetric method for the assessment of antipyretic and analgesic drug, acetaminophen was developed. A platinum disk electrode (PDE) fabricated by drop coating with the suspension of CuO nanoparticles (CuONPs) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was used. The modified electrode showed improved anodic peak current as compared to bare PDE in phosphate buffer solution. The consequence of pH of supporting electrolyte and amount of nanoparticles suspension was investigated at a physiological pH of 7.4. By employing differential pulse voltammetric technique, a linear dynamic range from 5 to 120 nM of acetaminophen concentration was obtained for this fabricated electrode. From the calibration plot, the computed detection limit was 1.91 nM and quantification limit was 6.36 nM. The developed process was fruitfully applied for the assessment of acetaminophen in paediatric oral suspensions administered for infants.
