Investigations on Giant Electrocaloric Effect in BaTiO3 Nanoceramics

Abstract
Here the BaTiO3 nanoceramics (BTNs), with 15 nm grain size, have giant electrocaloric effect. Most importantly, BTNs have the cooling per unit field about 3.95 at Tc =114°C under ∆E = 100 kV/cm. Moreover, the adiabatic temperature change of BTNs with 15 nm grain size under electric field shifts of 10, 50, 100 kV/cm are larger than one of BaTiO3 bulk and BaTiO3 thin film (T = 1.3 K).
