Abstract

A series of substituted derivatives of the closo-decaborate anion of 1,10-phenanthroline-5-amine have been prepared in this work. The products have been identified by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, ESI-mass spectrometry, and IR spectroscopy. The structure of compound (NBu₄)[2-B₁₀H₉NHC(C₂H₅)HNC₁₂H₇N₂] was established by single crystal X-ray diffraction.
