Chela kaladanensis, a New Species of Fish (Cyprinidae) from the Kaladan Basin of Mizoram, Northeastern India

Abstract
Chela kaladanensis, a new species of cyprinid fish, is described from the Kaladan River of Mizoram, northeastern India. The species is distinguished from its congeners by the following combination of characters: lateral line complete with 33–34 scales, 22–24 predorsal scales, 10–12 prepelvic scales, 16 circumpeduncular scales, 16 pre-caudal vertebrae, fifth ceratobranchial with 5, 3, 1 tooth, and premaxillae not in contact at symphysis.
