Genus Melamphaes. Oligo-Raker Species

Oligo-raker species of the genus Melamphaes (less than 19 rakers on the 1st gill arch) are divided into three groups: M. spinifer, M. typhlops, M. simus. A key has been compiled for identification of all 22 species. For each species, a detailed description has been provided, including synonymy and bibliography, diagnosis, description, comments, distribution, biology (if such data is available), information about the material studied.
