Bigscale Fishes (Family Melamphaidae) of the World Ocean. Introduction

The article opens the thematic issue of Journal of Ichthyology, which presents the results of more than 30 years of research by the author on the taxonomy and distribution of fish of the family Melamphaidae. Information on the structure of the issue, a description of research methods, a list of vessels on which the studied material was collected, and the names of museums around the world where typical material is stored have been provided.
