Abstract <p>A technique for fabricating arrays of gold/iron/gold multilayer nanodisks with diameters in the range 650–950 nm has been described. The magnetic and optical properties of these arrays have been characterized and studied. The fabricated nanodisks have been demonstrated to be applicable as agents for combined magnetic hyperthermia, infrared photothermia, and magnetomechanical therapy for destruction of biological cells. Among all fabricated samples, nanodisks 950 nm in diameter have been demonstrated to exhibit the optimal combination of magnetic and optical properties.</p>
