Punctate Lingulids (Brachiopods) of the Silurian of the Chernov Ridge, Northeastern European Russia
摘要
Abstract
Remains of organophosphate brachiopods of the order Lingulida, discovered for the first time in the Silurian sediments in the Timan-North Ural region, are described. Individual shell flaps and their fragments were found in the terrigenous-carbonate Wenlock series of the Padimejtyvis River section located in the central part of the Chernov Uplift. Comparison with other taxa suggests that these brachiopods are close to punctate lingulids of the genus Lingulipora Girty. The early shell ontogeny of the genus is discussed.
