摘要

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to compare the morphology of two ecologically similar groups of marine animals. Conodonts comprise two types: protoconodonts (these are ancient imprints + extant chaetognaths) and the presumably extinct euconodonts. A new study of previously published photographs of imprints suggests that the general organization of two closely related phyla of conodonts and their possible survival in changing environments needs to be reassessed.
