Revision of the Ostracod Isochilina punctata (Leperditicopida) from the Late Ordovician of Leningrad Region
摘要
Abstract
The Late Ordovician species Isochilina punctata (Eichwald, 1854) is reviewed, based on material from the late Ordovician deposits of the Leningrad Region. A detailed description of the species, from shallow lagoon-like basin conditions of the Vruda and Izvara formations, is provided. The lifestyle of Isochilina punctata, which inhabited the area during the Ordovician period, is reconstructed. The hypothesis that the species existed in a unique biofacies in the region of the current Izhora Plateau is proposed.
