Impact of Anthropogenic Load on the Bioremediation Potential of Bacterioplankton in the Bottom Sediments of the Oka River
摘要
Abstract
The influence of anthropogenic pollution on the bioremediation potential of bacterial communities in the bottom sediments of the Oka River was assessed at seven sampling sites in the Serpukhov area. It was demonstrated that the sampling sites varied in terms of the type of anthropogenic pollution present. Hydrocarbon-oxidizing bacteria accounted for 0.03–0.64% of the total abundance of cultured bacteria in the samples. RDA analysis revealed that the aliphatic fraction of pollution had the greatest impact on the abundance of microorganisms, including degraders. The isolated hydrocarbon-oxidizing bacteria belonged to 11 genera. The most common bacteria were members of the genus Acinetobacter, which were present in most samples.
