摘要

Abstract

This is the first report on emergence of alcohol dehydrogenase activity, apart from that of antioxidant enzymes, in Y. lipolytica yeast under stress. When growing on glucose, during transition from the exponential to the stationary phase of growth due to glucose consumption, the ability of cells to oxidize ethanol was discovered. Under oxidative and thermal stresses, induction of alcohol dehydrogenase was associated with an increase in the activity of such antioxidant enzymes as catalase, superoxide dismutase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, and glutathione reductase. A decrease in the intracellular ATP and cAMP levels in Y. lipolytica under various stress influences was shown, which correlates with an increase in the activity of antioxidant systems and NAD+-dependent alcohol dehydrogenase.
