Effect of Pulsed Electric Current Treatment on Repair Behavior of Rolling Bearing Defects
摘要
On the basis of fault diagnosis of rolling bearings, further research on the subsequent treatment methods is necessary. This study developed a method of repairing surface defects of rolling bearings by Electropulsing Treatment (EPT) technology, and quantitatively analyzed the influence of current parameters on the repair of rolling bearings. The results showed that different parameters of pulsed current have repairing effects on artificial surface defects of rolling bearings which serve as a model for spalling damage. However, excessive current parameters can be detrimental, potentially introducing adverse residual tensile stresses or causing material softening through over-tempering, which compromises the bearing’s long-term performance. The height of surface asperities in the defect area treated by pulse current decreases, which is attributed to the combined effects of intense localized Joule heating and current-induced mass transport. The current crowding around the asperities significantly enhances these phenomena. The research results provide a new solution for the repair of rolling bearing defects by EPT.
