Strike-Slip Dislocation in Two Perfectly Coupled Orthotropic and Transversely Elastic Half-Spaces
摘要
Analytic solutions for stresses and displacements for perfectly joined homogeneous orthotropic and transversely elastic half-spaces due to a line source situated in the upper half-space are derived in this study. As a particular case, expressions for displacements and stresses for a vertical strike–slip fault are derived. For numerical and graphical interpretation, we considered Olivine, Baryte and Topaz as orthotropic materials and Magnesium, cobalt, ice etc. as transversely isotropic materials to study the behavior of displacement and stresses near interface and near the source and it is observed that in orthotropic half-space, displacements and stresses are agreeing maximum value for Topaz irrespective of the choice of material in transversely isotropic half-space. Also numerically, the displacements and stresses are studied and the effect of anisotropy has been shown graphically by drawing line graphs and 3-D mesh-grid maps using MATLAB.
