Abstract <p>Based on the data from DSDP, ODP, and IODP Legs, several schematic maps of the CaCO<sub>3</sub>, Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, and SiO<sub>2</sub> distribution in Pleistocene sediments of the Atlantic Ocean have been compiled. Their analysis made it possible to reveal the manifestation of sedimentation zonation types, such as circum-continental, latitudinal, vertical, and tectonomagmatic. Specific features of the similarity and dissimilarity with analogous zonation types described for the Recent epoch are compared. It is concluded that Recent zonation in the Atlantic Ocean is inherited from the Pleistocene epoch.</p>
