Abstract

A new type of H-bonded associate is discovered in a series of crystals of cyclic sulfinamides condensed with a phenyl ring on the one side and with a norborna(e)ne ring on the other side. The associate is classified as a combined hetero- and homochiral one. It shows no interactions of sulfinyl groups, but exhibits a T-shaped stacking interaction of aromatic fragments. Interactions inside this associate are characterized by increased density and strength, in contrast to those in the homochiral chain along the 21 axis and a classical heterochiral chain along the glide plane that were studied earlier in detail.
