GluN3A Subunit Forms GluN3A-NMDAR and the Excitatory Glycine Receptor in Olfactory Sensory Neurons of Adult Rats
摘要
Abstract
Experimental data presented in the article were obtained fromisolated olfactory sensory neurons (OSNs) of adult Wistar rats. The aim of the study was to demonstrate, using in vivo fluorescentconfocal microscopy and pharmacological analysis, whether the GluN3Asubunit is localized in OSNs of adult animals. Analysis of the resultsrevealed the presence of the GluN3A subunit in OSNs of adult ratsas part of the excitatory glycine receptor and the GluN3A-containing N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (GluN3A-NMDAR).In addition, typical NMDARs and non-NMDARs were also localized inOSNs. All these receptors can be located either in the same or indifferent receptor cells, reflecting the heterogeneity of OSNs inthe olfactory epithelium.
