The Role of Dopamine in Chronic Pain: Neuroinflammation and Neurogenesis
摘要
Chronic pain is a complex condition that directly affectsthe quality of life of patients. Regulation and treatment of chronicpain are associated with a number of difficulties, primarily dueto the multifactorial nature of this condition. The causes of chronicpain can be associated not only with physical damage, such as variousinjuries, diseases and the development of neuroinflammation, butalso with a violation of the synthesis of neurotransmitters, aswell as complex processes of neurogenesis. In this review, we describethe complex and multifaceted interaction between dopaminergic regulation, neurogenesis and neuroinflammation on the development of chronicpain. Further studies of these relationships can lead to the creationof targeted therapeutic strategies aimed at eliminating chronicpain. Moreover, understanding the mechanisms underlying analgesiaassociated with the dopamine reward system can form the basis forthe development of new therapeutic approaches to relieve and controlpain.
