Abstract <p>We have studied mechanoluminescent materials based on epoxy resin loaded with SrAl<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>:Eu,Dy (SAOED) phosphor. Elastic characteristics of the phosphor have been determined experimentally, and the mechanoluminescence intensity has been measured as a function of loading parameters. Experimental evidence is presented for sequential photoluminescence decay in the materials during cyclic loading.</p>
