Conical Structures on the Liquid Surface in an Electric Field: Effect of Volume and Surface Charges

摘要

Conical structures formed on the liquid surface with the surface ionic conductivity in an external electric field have been studied taking into account the effect of the volume electric charge of the flow of droplets emitted from the apex of the cone into the surrounding gas. Exact multiparametric self-similar solutions have been obtained for the electric field distribution near the apex of the cone and for the motion of charged ions and droplets in this field. These solutions have allowed us to determine and to classify relations between the angle of the liquid cone, droplet divergence angle, and the electric current through the cone at various parameters of the problem.
