Abstract <p>A kicker (a pulsed deflecting device) has been developed for deflecting an intense electron beam without introducing distortion from induced fields. The kicker characteristics have been measured, and the kicker has been tested with an intense electron beam. The developed device is used in a pulsed X-ray tomography system to direct segments of an electron beam into different transport lines.</p>
