Superconducting Wiggler with a Field of 2.7 T and a Period of 27 mm for the “Fast Processes” Station at the SKIF Source
摘要
For stations one to three “Fast processes” of the SKIF synchrotron radiation source under construction, an insertion device is required that generates photons with energies up to 70 keV and has a maximum radiation flux at an energy of 35 keV. A superconducting wiggler with a period of 27 mm, a field of 2.7 T, and gap of 7 mm satisfies these requirements. This article presents the main characteristics and design features of the magnetic and cryogenic systems of this insertion device. Theoretical calculations of the parameters of the magnetic system, as well as the parameters of radiation from the insertion device, are described. The influence of the wiggler on the dynamics of the electron beam in the storage ring has been assessed. The results of measurements of the magnetic field of the wiggler prototype are presented.
