Position-Sensitive Cherenkov Proton Beam Monitor

Abstract
The results of a study of a new Cherenkov monitor of proton beams with a high pulsed current are presented. Good measurement agreement was obtained for the monitor, Gafchromic detector, and induction sensor for 160 MeV proton beam and pulsed average current 1 mA. Bench measurements of the coordinates of the position of the light flux simulating the light image of a proton beam in the radiator of a two-dimensional monitor were carried out. A comparative analysis of algorithms for reconstructing the coordinates of the light beam position with the results of monitor simulation is presented.
