Thermal Conductivity and Thermal Diffusivity of the Intermetallic Compound Mg2Ca in the Range of 300–1230 K

Abstract
For the first time, the thermal conductivity λ and thermal diffusivity a were experimentally studied for the intermetallic compound Mg2Ca. λ and a were measured using the laser flash method in the 300–1230 K temperature range in solid and liquid states, including the melting region of the intermetallic compound at 990 ± 5 K. The estimated uncertainties of the obtained data were 3.7–5.6 and 2.6–5.6% for λ and a, respectively. The results for λ in the present study are compared with data for other magnesium alloys.
