Abstract

The characteristics of a solvate ionic liquid based on lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (TFSI) salt and tetraglyme (G4) in various molar ratios and the possibility of its use in lithium–organic batteries have been studied using conductometry, differential scanning calorimetry, pulsed-field gradient NMR, cyclic voltammetry, and galvanostatic charge–discharge cycling. The tests showed a 1 : 2 LiTFSI : G4 formulation to provide a discharge capacity of 180 mA h/g, which is 90% of the theoretical capacity of polyimide (two-electron redox transition).
