Abstract <p>Problems of the oxidative desulfurization of model hydrocarbon mixtures and real motor fuels in the presence of bimetallic heterogeneous catalysts have been described. Close attention has been given to various methods for synthesizing bimetallic heterogeneous catalysts. The manifestation of the synergism of oxidation processes by these catalyst systems has been discussed and attributed to the different properties of the metals in bimetallic systems, in particular, the appearance of acid functions in these systems.</p>
