Abstract <p>Novel catalysts based on industrial ion-exchange resins and palladium and nickel salts for the synthesis of nitrogen-containing organic substances by the liquid-phase hydrogenation of aromatic nitroarenes under mild reaction conditions have been synthesized. The properties of the catalysts have been compared with those of classical heterogeneous palladium- and nickel-containing counterparts. The novel catalysts exhibit high selectivity and stability, although they are slightly inferior in activity to their heterogeneous counterparts.</p>
