The Study of the Cantilever Tip Modification Method Based on Carbon Nanotubes Integration into Adhesive Layer

Abstract
The paper considers the method of microscopies probes modification by integrating carbon nanotubes (CNT). An implantation from colloidal solution is proposed to introduce CNT into adhesive layer on the probe by dielectrophoresis. The comparison of configurations and process parameters were carried out to estimate their influence on the particle’s distribution. The applicability of the approach had been confirmed for the single nanotubes integration with a given orientation. There was noted the necessity of precise electrodes positioning during dielectrophoresis to avoid low repeatability and deviations from coaxial direction.
