About the Possibility of Using a Gas Discharge with a Water-Solution Cathode in Combination with an Electric Arc to Produce Hydrogen by High-Temperature Oxidation of Aluminum

Abstract
The results of experimental studies on the production of hydrogen by oxidation of aluminium in a water-vapour environment are presented. A gas discharge with a water-solution cathode in combination with an electric arc was used to create steam and heat it to high temperatures. A technical system has been created that allows the oxidation reaction to be carried out without air access. The aluminium raw material was duralumin waste. A gas consisting predominantly of hydrogen was obtained.
