摘要

Abstract

In this study, Cu2O particles was synthesis by using chemical reduction method. The XRD, FTIR, SEM and UV-Visible spectroscopy were utilised to characterise the synthesised Cu2O particles. The observed data matches previously reported XRD data of Cu2O particles (JCPDS File number 01-075-1531), confirming the fabrication of pure phase particles. The crystallite size of the synthesised Cu2O particles is 39.91 nm was calculating by using Scherrer formula. The band gap of synthesised Cu2O was measured at 1.91 eV using UV-Vis. Morphology and topography were identified using SEM investigation, illustrating development. FTIR analysis confirmed the functional group of particles. The experimental variables related to Cu2O particles photocatalytic methylene blue (MB) dye degradation. The measured MB degradation efficiency was 58.27%, at 10 ppm dye concentration, 60 min reaction duration, and 10 mg catalyst dosage. Effective adsorption and photocatalytic elimination of typical organic pollutants (MB) were proven by the Blue LED. The understanding of Cu2O-based photocatalyst design for organic pollutants degradation.
