Abstract <p>A new monotypic genus <i>Mesauleutes</i> Korotyaev <b>gen. n.</b> with the type species <i>Auleutes inspersus</i> Champion, 1907 is erected in the tribe Cnemogonini, and <i>Mesauleutes inspersus</i> (Champion), <b>comb. n.,</b> is recorded for the first time from the continental U.S.A. (Florida) and several countries of North and Central America with the first host plant associations on <i>Ludwigia octovalvis</i> (Jacq.) P.H. Raven and <i>Jussiaea erecta</i> L. <i>Auleutes nasalis</i> (LeConte, 1876), <b>comb. resurr.,</b> is returned from <i>Parauleutes</i> Colonnelli, 2004 to <i>Auleutes</i> Dietz, 1896 where it was placed by Dietz. <i>Pelenomus friebi</i> (Wagner, 1939), <b>comb. n.,</b> is transferred from <i>Phytobius</i> Schönherr, 1833 and is recorded for the first time from North America where it was reared from <i>Potentilla palustre</i> L. (Scop.). Two species are transferred from <i>Ceutorhynchus</i> Germar, 1824 to <i>Allosirocalus</i> Colonnelli, 1983: <i>Allosirocalus ovipennis</i> (Dietz, 1896), <b>comb. n.,</b> and <i>Allosirocalus pollinosus</i> (Dietz, 1896), <b>comb. n.</b></p>

Abstract

A new monotypic genus Mesauleutes Korotyaev gen. n. with the type species Auleutes inspersus Champion, 1907 is erected in the tribe Cnemogonini, and Mesauleutes inspersus (Champion), comb. n., is recorded for the first time from the continental U.S.A.
