Abstract <p>The morphological characteristics, taxonomic composition, and differential diagnosis of the subgenus <i>Bradytus</i> and 18 its species in the fauna of Russia are given; the distribution of the taxa is described, and a key is compiled. A new species, <i>Amara khasanensis</i> <b>sp. n.</b> from southern Primorskii Territory, is described; it differs in the densely and deeply punctate basal and lateral pronotal margins and the body underside, in the presence of a brush of fine hairs in the distal quarter of the inner margin of the male mesotibia, and in a saccular endophallus with an extensive area with sclerotized spines on the right wall. Based on examination of the type material, <i>Bradytus armenus</i> Motschulsky, 1844 is transferred from the synonyms of <i>Amara</i> (<i>Bradytus</i>) <i>apricaria</i> (Paykull, 1790) as a junior synonym of <i>Amara</i> (<i>Amathitis</i>) <i>abdominalis</i> (Motschulsky, 1844). The <b>lectotypes</b> of <i>Acrodon uralensis</i> Motschulsky, 1844, <i>Bradytus pallidulus</i> Motschulsky, 1844, and <i>Amara reitteri</i> Tschitschérine, 1894 are designated. <i>Amara macra</i> is recorded for the first time for Sakhalin Island.</p>

Abstract
