A Remarkable New Genus of Cixiidae (Homoptera) from Malaysia

Abstract
An unusual new genus and species of Cixiidae, Ananke axigera gen. et sp. n. from Sabah, Malaysia is described in the tribe Mnemosynini, belonging to the subfamily Pentastirinae, stat. n. The striking features of the new genus are probably associated with its secretive, possibly myrmecophilous, lifestyle.
