Foraging Activity of the Bumblebee Bombus terrestris (Linnaeus, 1758) (Hymenoptera, Anthophila: Apidae) in Greenhouses and in Agrocenoses

Abstract
Pollination of entomophilous crops by the bumblebee Bombus terrestris in greenhouses and open fields depends on the state of the colony and the impact of unfavorable environmental factors. The most important indicators of the colony state are the number of workers and the condition of the queen. The foraging activity of bumblebees in greenhouses and the longevity of their colonies are negatively affected by the use of high-pressure sodium lamps with spectra unsuitable for bumblebees’ orienting in flight, as well as by air temperatures above 29°C and a lack of pollen. Predators, parasites, and nest destroyers pose a particular danger to bumblebees in open fields.
